AbstractThe impact of cryptocurrency on the global economy is enormous. It has brought about changes both positive and negative. However, the advantages of cryptocurrency are far-reaching for many of its users who experience financial and economic inequality, causing its prevalence in lower-middle income countries. This development has caused the governments in these countries to tackle the complicated legal implications that follow. This paper aims to examine the regulatory trajectories and compile the legislation put in place in the countries of India, Vietnam and the Republic of Philippines and how each country has reckoned with this asset.
