/From Scratch: A Direct Test of the Sound-Horizon Assumption
Abstract

An observational evaluation of the sound-horizon assumption using late-time expansion measurements and the CMB acoustic angle. The work examines whether current data can empirically determine the sound horizon without adopting early-universe physics and quantifies the uncertainties that arise from extrapolating beyond the redshift range of chronometer measurements.
