IRON SUCROSE INJECTION RECEIVES MARKETING APPROVAL

The Board of Directors (the 'Board') of CSPC Pharmaceutical Group Limited (the 'Company', together with its subsidiaries, the 'Group') is pleased to announce that Iron Sucrose Injection (5ml: 100mg iron and 1.6g sucrose) (the 'Product') developed by the Group has received marketing approval issued by the National Medical Products Administration of the People's Republic of China. The Product is the first of its kind in China deemed to have passed the consistency evaluation of the quality and efficacy of generic drugs.

The Product, an intravenous polysaccharide-iron complex, is a water-soluble complex formed by noncovalent encapsulation of polynuclear iron (III) hydroxide with sucrose molecules. After intravenous administration, the Product gradually dissociates into iron ions and sucrose in vivo; the dissociated iron ions bind to plasma transferrin and are transported via the blood circulation to target tissue cells such as erythroid hematopoietic precursor cells in the bone marrow, ultimately being utilised for erythropoiesis to correct iron deficiency anaemia. The Product is indicated for patients with iron deficiency anaemia who have an unsatisfactory response to oral iron preparations, such as poor absorption or intolerance, and require iron supplementation via the intravenous route.

The approval of the Product will further enrich the Group's product portfolio in the field of hematologic diseases.
