VOLUNTARY ANNOUNCEMENT PUBLICATION OF PHASE III CLINICAL TRIAL RESULTS OF LZ901 IN NATURE COMMUNICATIONS

This announcement is made by Beijing Luzhu Biotechnology Co., Ltd. (the "Company", together with its subsidiaries, the "Group") on a voluntary basis to inform the shareholders and potential

investors of the Company of the latest business development of the Group.

The board ("Board") of directors of the Company ("Directors") announces that the clinical results of the Phase III clinical trial of LZ901, the core product of the Group, in China have been published on Nature Communications1 on August 7, 2026.

ABOUT THE PHASE III CLINICAL TRIAL IN CHINA

The Phase III clinical trial of LZ901 in China is a multi-center, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled parallel study to evaluate the efficacy and safety profile of LZ901 for the prevention of herpes zoster in adults aged 40 years and older. A total of 26,039 subjects were enrolled in the study and a total of 25,577 subjects received two doses of LZ901 or placebo, administered 30 days apart.

Key results of the Phase III clinical trial of LZ901 in China are summarized below:

Efficacy

• Overall vaccine efficacy: within one year post-vaccination, overall vaccine efficacy was 91.6% (95% confidence interval (the "CI"): 86.3% to 95.3%) in subjects aged 40 years and older;

• Laboratory-confirmed cases: within one year post-vaccination, efficacy against laboratory-confirmed cases was 92.1% (95% CI: 86.7% to 95.7%); and

• Protection against complications: within one year post-vaccination, vaccine efficacy against

post-herpetic neuralgia (PHN) was 95.9% (95% CI: 63.9% to 99.9%), and vaccine efficacy against herpes zoster-associated severe acute pain was 92.6% (95% CI: 87.2% to 96.1%).

Safety and tolerability

• Adverse reactions: within 30 days post-vaccination, 16.4% (2,137/13,011) of participants in the LZ901 vaccine group reported at least one adverse reaction, compared with 9.0% (1,167/13,008) in the placebo group (p<0.001);

• Solicited local & systemic reactions (within 7 days): injection-site reactions were reported by 11.6% (1,503/13,011) of participants in the LZ901 group versus 3.7% (484/13,008) in the placebo group (p<0.001). Systemic reactions were reported by 5.2% (681/13,011) of participants in the LZ901 group versus 4.3% (555/13,008) in the placebo group (p<0.001); and

• Grade 3 reactions: occurrence of grade 3 reactions did not differ significantly between the LZ901 group (0.4%) and the placebo group (0.3%) (p=0.672).

ABOUT LZ901

LZ901 is a recombinant herpes zoster vaccine candidate independently developed by the Group, and is the core product of the Group. LZ901 aims to prevent the occurrence of herpes zoster and related complications caused by herpes zoster, including post-herpetic neuralgia in adults aged 40 years and above. A biologics license application for LZ901 was submitted to the National Medical Products Administration ("NMPA") of the People's Republic of China in January 2025, which was subsequently accepted in February 2025. As of the date of this announcement, the biologics license application for LZ901 is under review by the NMPA.
