Major Joint Replacement Work Scheduled for Delaware Memorial Bridge
Construction Begins September 7 on New Jersey-bound Span; Right Two Lanes Closed
NEW CASTLE, Del., Aug. 10, 2026 — Today, Delaware River and Bay Authority (DRBA) officials announced that a major infrastructure preservation project will begin on the New Jersey-bound (Northbound) span of the Delaware Memorial Bridge (DMB) on September 7, 2026. The Authority's contractor, UHPC Solutions North America LLC, will perform extensive bridge joint replacement work across the two right lanes of the northbound structure. The project is expected to be completed by November 24, 2026, prior to the busy holiday travel season.
