Dr. Trenor brings more than two decades of clinical, translational and drug development leadership experience advancing innovative therapies across rare diseases, hematology and oncology

MENLO PARK, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AN2 Therapeutics, Inc. (Nasdaq: ANTX), a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing novel small molecule therapeutics derived from its boron chemistry platform, today announced the appointment of Cameron Trenor, M.D., as Chief Medical Officer.

Dr. Trenor is an accomplished physician-scientist and biotechnology executive with more than 20 years of experience leading clinical and translational development programs across hematology, rare diseases, oncology, immunology and metabolic disorders. He has played key leadership roles in advancing novel therapeutics from discovery and translational research through global clinical development, regulatory interactions and commercialization planning.

Most recently, Dr. Trenor served as Chief Medical Officer of Cellarity, where he led the establishment of its medical organization through its transition to a clinical-stage biotechnology company. As Chief Medical Officer, he oversaw development of Cellarity's lead program, including the company's first IND submission and initiation of a global first-in-human clinical study. Prior to Cellarity, Dr. Trenor served as Executive Medical Director at Forma Therapeutics, which was acquired by Novo Nordisk, where he led global clinical development activities for etavopivat across multiple indications and supported the program's advancement from early clinical development into Phase 3. Earlier in his career, Dr. Trenor led clinical and translational programs in hematology and rare diseases at Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research. He remains a practicing pediatric hematologist-oncologist at Boston Children's Hospital and has authored approximately 60 peer-reviewed research publications. Dr. Trenor received a B.S. in Biology from Tufts University, an M.D. from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine and a Master of Medical Sciences degree in Clinical Investigation from Harvard Medical School. He completed his residency and fellowship training through Boston Children's Hospital, Boston Medical Center and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and is board-certified in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology.
