HIGHLY POTENT AMYLIN RECEPTOR AGONIST (SYH2092 INJECTION)

OBTAINS CLINICAL TRIAL APPROVAL IN CHINA

The Board of Directors (the 'Board') of CSPC Pharmaceutical Group Limited (the 'Company', together with its subsidiaries, the 'Group') is pleased to announce that the SYH2092 injection (the 'Product') developed by the Group has obtained approval from the National Medical Products Administration of the People's Republic of China to conduct clinical trials in China.

The Product is an amylin receptor agonist. By optimising its agonistic activity, it has the potential to improve efficacy with a manageable tolerability profile. In addition, through the optimisation of fatty acid modification, it prolongs the in vivo half-life which has the potential to translate to a durable weight loss benefit.

Preclinical studies showed that, compared with several amylin analogues currently in clinical development, the Product demonstrated higher target agonistic activity, potent weight-reducing efficacy and a prolonged weight-loss maintenance effect. Furthermore, when used in combination with the glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1)/glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) receptor dualbiased agonist independently developed by the Group, the Product exerted a synergistic weight-loss effect, increasing the magnitude of weight reduction while prolonging the duration of efficacy.

The Product has the potential to bring significant clinical benefits for weight management in patients with obesity, and improve glycaemic control in adult patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).
