Recently, the six-episode large-scale documentary "Business World" produced by the Financial Program Center of China Central Radio and Television Station was broadcast on the CCTV-2 Financial Channel. Starting from the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa, the film panoramicly records the global integration and upgrading process of Chinese enterprises from "product exports" to "industrial roots", from "going out" to "going in", and systematically interprets the connotation of China's business civilization in the new era.

In the documentary footage, the innovative power of China's pharmaceutical industry has become a colorful chapter. HitGen appeared as a representative company in the field of innovative drug research and development, fully demonstrating the hard-core innovation strength and global brand image of Chinese biopharmaceutical companies.

"In the past ten years, China's innovative drugs have entered a period of rapid development." The documentary provides strong evidence with such a set of data: in 2025, the total amount of external licensing transactions for China's innovative drugs will exceed US$130 billion, and its pipeline under development will account for 30% of the world's total, ranking second in the world. HitGen is based on source innovation and deeply cultivates the core track of early drug research and development. It is one of the important participants in this innovation leap.

Drug molecules are the core early stage of innovative drug research and development, also known as the "source of drugs." The discovery of drug molecules is one of the most critical and technically difficult links in the entire industrial value chain. HitGen focuses on this key area and builds a unique new molecule discovery system with the world's leading DEL (DNA-encoded compound library) technology as the core, providing therapeutic molecules and new tool molecules to the global pharmaceutical industry.

After years of development, DEL technology has become increasingly mature and has been widely used by the pharmaceutical industry and academic institutions. It is gradually becoming one of the standard methods for pharmaceutical companies and biotechnology companies to obtain "seeds" for new drugs. At present, hundreds of pharmaceutical companies and biotechnology companies around the world have applied DEL technology. It is worth mentioning that almost all of the top 20 top pharmaceutical companies in the world have deployed it.

HitGen is the first company in Asia to develop and industrially apply DEL technology. After more than ten years of intensive development, it has grown into one of the leaders in the field of DEL technology. According to public information statistics, HitGen is one of the companies with the largest number of cooperation projects among global R&D service companies in the field of DEL technology. Its partners include high-quality customers such as international pharmaceutical giants and well-known biotechnology companies. As of the end of 2025, the company has transferred a total of 135 projects and more than 1,300 active compound entities, 90% of which are "molecular pioneers" with novel topological structures and parent cores (compare drug molecules approved by the US FDA between 1940 and 2025). In recent years, HitGen has published nearly 40 original papers in the field of DEL and a monograph on DEL technology, continuing to lead the innovation and development of DEL technology.

While continuously consolidating the foundation of core innovation capabilities, HitGen, as the only DEL technology service provider, has jointly established the world's first DEL alliance with international pharmaceutical companies such as Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Johnson & Johnson, Merck, and Roche, aiming to share resources through innovative cooperation models, efficiently build a more valuable and diverse DEL library, promote DEL technology iteration, accelerate drug innovation, and ultimately benefit patients around the world.

Top international pharmaceutical companies have joined HitGen's "circle of friends" one after another, which not only highly recognizes the company's technical strength, but also reflects the status transition of China's innovative pharmaceutical companies from "followers" to "equal partners". To date, HitGen has empowered thousands of innovative drug research and development projects for more than 600 customers around the world.

HitGen's global influence is not only reflected in the number of customers and levels of cooperation, but also stems from its complete core intellectual property layout and strict compliance management - which is not only a solid support for building a technological moat, but also establishes a good international image of Chinese innovative pharmaceutical companies respecting rules and adhering to compliance. As of the end of 2025, the company has obtained a total of 172 invention patents and 36 software copyrights, and more than 450 domestic and foreign invention patents are in the process of application.

The road to innovation is steady and long-term. HitGen is continuing to expand the boundaries of its technical capabilities along the new drug R&D value chain, building and improving an internationally leading new drug discovery and optimization system. From the initial technological exploration to becoming the global leader in DEL technology, HitGen has always been anchored in its original intention: to empower global drug research and development with source innovation and contribute Chinese wisdom to the improvement of human health and quality of life.

As the opening chapter of "Business World" says: "Chinese enterprises are going global with a more stable attitude, reshaping themselves while integrating into the world, and changing the world."
