Advancing Global Innovation in Complex Wound Care Through Integrated Medical and Biotechnology Collaboration

Oneness Biotech Co., Ltd. and Kaohsiung Medical University Hospital (KMUH) officially held an unveiling ceremony in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, to mark the establishment of the world’s first ON101 Global Wound Care Center. This milestone represents a significant advancement in the global wound care field. The Center is envisioned as an international platform for professional training, clinical exchange, and innovative research in wound care, aiming to cultivate global expertise in the management of difficult-to-heal wounds and to showcase Taiwan’s strengths in integrated healthcare and biotechnology to the world.

ON101 Global Wound Care Center serves as a pioneering platform where ON101 is systematically applied across various wound types and clinical scenarios. Through multifaceted clinical exploration and research, the Center aims to progressively establish structured treatment approaches and therapeutic strategies for different wound conditions. With the accumulation of clinical evidence and research outcomes, ON101 is positioned to become a globally influential cornerstone product in wound care, further advancing international wound treatment standards.

Kaohsiung Medical University Hospital is one of Taiwan’s leading medical centers, renowned for delivering high-quality and comprehensive medical services. Its outstanding achievements in wound care have been recognized with the Platinum Award at the 26th National Healthcare Quality Award (NHQA). Through its multidisciplinary Limb Preservation One-Stop Care model, KMUH integrates multi-disciplinary care and advanced medical technologies to help patients overcome chronic non-healing wounds while preserving limb function and mobility.

Professor Yur-Ren Kuo, Honorary President of the Taiwan Society for Wound Care and a leader in Plastic Surgery at KMUH, said, “With the rapid aging of the population and the growing prevalence of chronic diseases such as diabetes, chronic and difficult-to-heal wounds have become a major challenge for healthcare systems worldwide. Over the years, KMUH has continuously advanced an integrated wound care model that combines multidisciplinary expertise, advanced equipment, and innovative treatment approaches to improve wound healing and limb preservation outcomes. The establishment of the ON101 Global Wound Care Demonstration Center will not only help further accumulate clinical experience and refine treatment strategies, but also serve as an important platform for international professional exchange, clinical training, and collaborative research.”

Chronic non-healing wounds not only severely impact patients’ quality of life but, when complicated by recurrent infections, may progress to osteomyelitis and ultimately result in amputation. The integrated care model established by KMUH demonstrates that coordinated treatment through early intervention, precise infection control, tissue repair, and functional rehabilitation can effectively alter the clinical course of high-risk wound cases, providing valuable practical experience and reference for global wound care. Through the establishment of the ON101 Global Wound Care Center, Oneness Biotech and Kaohsiung Medical University Hospital reaffirm their shared commitment to advancing global wound care standards, fostering international medical collaboration, and translating clinical innovation into tangible benefits for patients worldwide.

Mr. Kung-Ming Lu, Founder of Oneness Biotech Co., Ltd., stated that Oneness Biotech has long been rooted in Taiwan while actively expanding its global presence, with a strong commitment to innovative product development. He noted that ON101 has been successfully advanced into the global market and expressed appreciation to KMUH for providing world-class clinical expertise and clinical practice environments, enabling both parties to jointly cultivate global wound care professionals. Looking ahead, Oneness Biotech will continue to partner with leading medical centers worldwide to establish ON101-centered wound care centers across multiple specialties and wound indications, with the aim of addressing unmet medical needs and striving to improve wound treatment outcomes for patients globally.
