Philips Korea CEO promoted to run Asia-Pacific health systems business

Philips Korea said that its CEO Kim Dong-hee would also run Philips Asia Pacific's health systems business division from Monday.

Philips Korea CEO Kim Dong-hee has been promoted to run Philips Asia Pacific's health systems business division from Monday.

Kim is a healthcare professional with long-term experience in specialized medical devices. In addition, she has more than 17 years of global leadership experience, covering a wide range of markets in the U.S. and Asia Pacific region.

Before joining Phillips, CEO Kim led the transcatheter aortic heart valves business in the Asia-Pacific region at Edwards Life Sciences and held various positions at Boston Scientific, proving her competence in business management and marketing, the company said.

Since joining Philips in 2018, she has been leading the strategic growth and direction of all businesses in Korea. She has played a pivotal role in solidifying Philips' position as a healthcare solution company. Kim has also led strategic contracts with major local hospitals with a business model centered on solutions and achieved sales and profit growth results.

At Philips Korea, Kim has abolished in-house titles, support the work-life balance based on the slogan of "Design Your Day," expanded exchanges with employees, and strived to establish a horizontal, mutually respectful, and trusting organizational culture, the company said.

"Kim has also been serving as the vice president of the European Chamber of Commerce in Korea (ECCK) from the start of this year," it added said.

Kim plans to lead business growth and sales with the appointment by utilizing the Philips Healthcare portfolio and services throughout the Asia-Pacific region, including Korea.

Kim said she would actively support Philips Korea to further strengthen its position in the healthcare market, as Korea is one of the important markets in the Asia-Pacific region.

Philips Korea said Kim would continue to serve as the CEO of Philips Korea until the company appoints a new CEO.
