Noul secures $4.7 mil. deal to supply AI malaria diagnostic solution to Benin
Noul said it has signed its first large-scale public procurement contract to supply its AI-powered malaria diagnostic solution, miLab MAL, to the Republic of Benin over the next three years.
Noul secures a $4.7 million contract to supply its AI-powered malaria diagnostic solution, miLab MAL, to Benin, marking a significant milestone in its expansion into West Africa’s public healthcare sector.
Benin, a West African nation bordering Nigeria, Togo, and Burkina Faso, has a population of approximately 14 million. Malaria remains a significant public health concern, with around 5.1 million reported cases annually, accounting for 40 percent of outpatient visits and 25 percent of hospital admissions.
The contract, valued at approximately 6.34 billion won ($4.7 million), marks a significant milestone in the company’s expansion into West Africa’s public healthcare sector.
Under the agreement, Noul will supply a minimum of 219 units of miLab to the Beninese government through an exclusive local distributor. The deal follows successful performance evaluations of miLab MAL across West African nations, including Nigeria, Côte d'Ivoire, and Benin.
“This exclusive supply agreement underscores the unmatched performance and convenience of miLab MAL, which has been rigorously tested and recognized by health authorities in West Africa,” Noul CEO David Lim said. “Our AI-based blood diagnostic platform has also demonstrated superior performance compared to standard microscopy in evaluations conducted with Labcorp, the largest diagnostic lab in the U.S.”
The company is confident that miLab will establish itself as a leading diagnostic solution in both low- and high-income markets, Lim added.
Noul is strategically expanding its business by collaborating with government agencies in malaria-endemic regions and pursuing certifications from organizations like the World Health Organization (WHO). In high-income regions such as North America, the company aims to target large healthcare institutions seeking cost-effective and efficient diagnostic solutions.
