Mexican pharma snaps up doomed Pfizer plant; AZ launches clotbuster Brilinta in India;

Mexico's Neolpharma bought a Pfizer ($PFE) plant in Caguas, Puerto Rico, that was set to close at the end of this year; the company plans to keep its 130 workers and hire another 60 temporarily. Report

AstraZeneca ($AZN) rolled out its anti-clotting drug Brilinta in India at a price that the government's new-drug committee considered "competitive." Report

Mylan ($MYL) agreed to buy an Indian drug manufacturing plant owned by SMS Pharmaceuticals, which specializes in making cancer drugs and APIs, for $32.5 million. Report

Adding Pfizer's Zyvox to standard therapy for patients with drug-resistant tuberculosis appeared to improve response, but with a high rate of side effects, a study found. Report
