Samsung Biologics said Tuesday it has achieved a record cumulative contract value of 5.52 trillion won ($3.8 billion) so far this year, surpassing last year’s full-year figure of 5.4 trillion won in just 10 months. The company said this marks the largest annual order volume since its founding.

The milestone was driven by a steady stream of large-scale global contracts, including a new 275.9 billion won expansion deal signed with an unnamed European pharmaceutical company, which was disclosed on Tuesday.

With this latest agreement, the total number of new and expanded manufacturing contracts signed in 2025 has risen to eight.

Samsung Biologics began the year with a record 2 trillion won contract in January, followed by another 1.8 trillion won deal with a U.S.-based client in September, demonstrating continued growth momentum through robust partnerships with major global biopharmaceutical firms.

Samsung Biologics currently counts 17 of the world’s top 20 pharmaceutical companies among its clients. Leveraging its unparalleled production capacity, proven quality standards, and extensive track record, the company’s cumulative orders have now exceeded $20 billion since its establishment.

To meet the growing global demand for biologics, Samsung Biologics continues to expand its production capabilities. The company’s fifth plant, which began operations in April, adds 180,000 liters of manufacturing capacity, bringing its total global capacity to 784,000 liters -- the largest in the world.

Samsung Biologics has also strengthened its quality competitiveness, achieving a 99 percent batch success rate and earning 394 manufacturing approvals from key regulatory authorities, including the U.S. FDA, European Medicines Agency (EMA), and Japan’s Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency (PMDA), as of October 2025.

“This achievement is a testament to our commitment to quality and the strong trust we’ve built with global partners,” Samsung Biologics CEO John Rim said. “We will continue to enhance our world-class production competitiveness and rapid supply capabilities to drive sustainable growth and maximize customer satisfaction.”
