Huons Group garners multiple export honors at Trade Day ceremony
Huons Group has emerged as a standout performer in Korea’s export-driven healthcare sector, securing three major accolades at the 62nd Trade Day ceremony for its overseas business expansion and rising global sales.
The company said Monday that three of its affiliates were awarded Export Tower prizes, which recognize firms achieving significant annual export milestones. Huons BioPharma received the $7 Million Export Tower, while Huons N and PanGen Biotech were honored with the $ 5 Million and $3 Million Export Towers, respectively.
Trade Day is organized by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and hosted by the Korea International Trade Association to acknowledge companies that contribute to Korea’s global market competitiveness.
Huons BioPharma earned its award after exporting roughly 9 million dollars’ worth of products over the past year, driven largely by registrations of its botulinum toxin brand HUTOX in 15 countries, including Thailand, Iraq, and Colombia. The company’s chief executive, Kim Yeong-mok, also received a ministerial commendation for his leadership in strengthening Korea’s pharmaceutical presence abroad.
Huons N has expanded its footprint in the global functional health food sector through OEM and ODM partnerships, exporting to more than 14 countries across North America, Asia, and Europe. The company credited its growth to proprietary functional ingredients, unique dosage forms such as spout pouches, and its recent acquisition of Biorosette, which it says will enhance manufacturing capabilities amid rising overseas demand.
PanGen Biotech, meanwhile, recorded 3 million dollars in exports through sales of its erythropoietin biosimilar products to markets including Malaysia, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, and Thailand. The company plans to expand further into the Middle East and Africa.
In addition, Huons BioPharma CEO Kim Yeong-mok received a commendation from the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy for exemplary contributions to Korea’s export growth.
"This award is regarded as the result of our strategic decision to establish an overseas sales division upon Huons BioPharma's founding in 2021, enabling sustained efforts in developing global markets," Kim said. "Moving forward, we remain committed to maintaining our strong export growth momentum, enhancing our competitive edge in the global market, and further solidifying our position as a leading player in the healthcare industry.”
