BlueMTec, an online medical distributor, announced on Monday that its sales and operating profit improved by more than 30 percent year on year.

According to the disclosure, BlueMTec’s sales reached 185.7 billion won ($127.4 million) in 2025, a 39 percent increase from 133.3 billion won in 2024. Its operating loss narrowed sharply, declining from 6.89 billion won in 2024 to 1.98 billion won last year, reducing the deficit by more than 71 percent.

BlueMTec attributed the revenue growth to the rapid expansion of the obesity treatment market, driven by products such as Wegovy and Mounjaro, as well as higher purchase volumes per loyal customer following enhanced membership benefits. The company said the improvement in operating performance was achieved through effective cost control, with selling, general, and administrative (SG&A) expenses rising only 2.4 percent despite 39 percent revenue growth.

Despite the improvement, the company remained in the red.

“Although the obesity treatment market expanded rapidly with the introduction of innovative drugs, a supply-demand mismatch emerged when the national vaccination program switched from quadrivalent to trivalent influenza vaccines,” BlueMTec said. “Vaccine disposal losses alone amounted to 1.8 billion won.”

The company added, “As we pursue fundamental improvements -- such as reducing reliance on influenza vaccines and refining our demand forecasting model -- along with continued portfolio expansion, we will make every effort this year to secure stable operating profits.”
