Celltrion said Tuesday it has signed a biologics contract manufacturing (CMO) deal with an undisclosed global pharmaceutical company worth 294.9 billion won ($198 million), with the value potentially rising to 375.4 billion won ($252 million) depending on future discussions.
The Korean drugmaker said supply is set to begin in the first quarter of 2027 and continue through 2029. It did not name the client at the counterparty’s request, but said it would disclose the company once confidentiality restrictions are lifted.
Celltrion said the deal was based on the client’s assessment of its manufacturing quality, productivity and supply stability.
The company said demand from global pharmaceutical companies for CDMO partnerships has been increasing and that it is strengthening related sales and project management functions through its subsidiary, Celltrion BioSolutions.
Celltrion currently has total production capacity of 316,000 liters, including 250,000 liters across its three Songdo plants in Korea and 66,000 liters at its Branchburg, New Jersey, site in the U.S.
