Noul reports '100% sensitivity' in malaria, leukemia pilot studies
Noul reported clinical data on its AI-based diagnostic platform, miLab, from two multicenter pilot studies presented at the Point-of-Care Testing (POCT) Symposium 2026 in Brussels.
The studies, conducted by a team at Hôpitaux Iris Sud, evaluated miLab MAL for malaria and miLab BCM for blood analysis in emergency settings.
In the malaria study, miLab MAL showed 100 percent sensitivity and specificity using 5 μL of blood, with results available in 15 minutes, the company said.

In a separate study, miLab BCM detected all cases of acute leukemia with circulating blasts (sensitivity 100 percent, specificity 92 percent), compared with 20 percent sensitivity for a comparator POCT analyzer in the same study, Noul said.
The researchers said the system’s morphology-based alerts and digital imaging may help identify cases that could be missed with standard testing.
Noul said the platform integrates sample preparation, imaging, and AI analysis into a single device, delivering results in about 15 minutes.
