PEGS Boston, one of the largest global conferences focused on protein and antibody therapeutics, is being held in Boston from Monday to Friday and has drawn more than 2,500 industry professionals. Samsung Biologics is operating a meeting room during the event to meet with pharmaceutical companies.
On Tuesday, the company held a luncheon presentation titled “Advancing Oncology Drug Discovery through Samsung Organoids and Integrated CDO Capabilities.” Kim Sea-hee, director of Organoids Technology at Samsung Biologics, introduced the company’s Samsung Organoids service and DEVELOPICK platform for oncology drug development.
Samsung Organoids, launched in June last year, uses patient tumor-derived organoids to evaluate the efficacy of oncology drug candidates before clinical development. The service can be used to compare drug responses across different tumor types and patient characteristics, helping clients identify promising candidates earlier in development.
DEVELOPICK, first launched in October 2022 and upgraded to version 3.0, is Samsung Biologics’ developability assessment platform. It analyzes candidate characteristics using small amounts of protein and evaluates both efficacy and developability to support candidate selection.
Samsung Biologics has built nine CDO technology platforms, including the high-concentration formulation platform S-HiCon, its proprietary cell line platform S-CHOice and the bispecific antibody platform S-DUAL. The company provides customized CDO services from early development to investigational new drug application preparation.
“Samsung Biologics has continued to strengthen its capabilities to maximize clients’ chances of success from early candidate discovery to clinical development and commercialization,” said James Choi, executive vice president, chief marketing officer and head of sales support, project management, and global public affairs at Samsung Biologics. “We will continue to meet diverse client needs based on differentiated platforms.”
