Alpha Tau to present pancreatic cancer data for intratumoral alpha radiation therapy at ASCO

Alpha Tau Medical will present abstracts from three pancreatic cancer clinical studies at the annual meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), which will be held in Chicago from May 29 to June 2.

The presentation, titled “Integrated Safety and Efficacy Results from Three Clinical Studies Evaluating Alpha Radiation Therapy in Advanced Pancreatic Cancer,” includes data from three prospective clinical trials evaluating endoscopic ultrasound-guided intratumoral Alpha DaRT therapy in patients with locally advanced or metastatic pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC).

Alpha Tau said the acceptance of the abstracts reflects progress in its clinical development program for intratumoral radiation therapy in pancreatic cancer.

The studies included 58 patients treated at Jewish General Hospital, the Centre Hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal (CHUM) and Hadassah Medical Center.

Dr. Corey Miller, director of therapeutic endoscopy in the Department of Gastroenterology at Jewish General Hospital and first author and presenter of the abstract, said collaboration among gastroenterology, medical oncology and radiation oncology teams helped expand the study from an initial feasibility assessment into a broader clinical dataset.

“We confirmed that the EUS-guided intratumoral approach is not only technically feasible but can also be seamlessly integrated into real-world clinical practice,” Miller said.

Detailed clinical findings are scheduled to be released May 21 on the ASCO conference website.
