On April 21, 2026, NeuroGen (Shanghai) Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. and Teva Pharmaceuticals jointly announced that the two parties formally reached a strategic cooperation and licensing agreement on AJOVY (frenezumab injection). NeuroGen (Shanghai) Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. will obtain the exclusive rights to commercialize AJOVY in mainland China and the exclusive license for the patents and trademarks involved in the product. According to the agreement, Getac will obtain the qualification of the marketing authorization holder (MAH) of this product in mainland China. Both parties will give full play to their respective advantages in global innovative drug development and local market penetration, jointly promote the broad accessibility of AJOVY in the Chinese market, provide more sustainable treatment options for migraine patients, and better serve patients' long-term management needs.
Migraine is characterized by high disease burden and recurring attacks, and patients often require long-term, standardized preventive management. Relevant studies show that the total number of people suffering from migraine in China has reached approximately 185 million, which has also made sustainable treatment methods and wider accessibility of preventive treatments a common concern in the medical and health field.
AJOVY (frenezumab injection) provides quarterly and monthly dosing plans for the preventive treatment of migraine, providing patients with flexible and personalized treatment options, helping patients manage migraine symptoms in the long term and improve their quality of life. The product was first approved for adult indication by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 2 in 2018 and was approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) 3 in 2019.
