Recently, Ping An Healthcare and Technology Company Limited’s ("Ping An Good Doctor" or “Ping An Health”; Stock Code: 1833.HK) smart healthcare platform, "Ping An Chronic Disease Manager," held an expert seminar together with the China County Hospital Dean Alliance. The seminar gathered over 20 experts and doctors, including Professor Huo Yong from Peking University First Hospital and Professor Zhou Maigeng from China Chronic Disease Center, to discuss the development of digital therapy in the cardiovascular field.
Based on the collaboration in cardiovascular digital therapy for hypertension products with the China County Hospital Dean Alliance, the seminar aims to fully explore the role of digital technology in managing cardiovascular diseases towards providing more precise and personalized management to improve patients' quality of life and health.
Project Manager of Ping An Health Smart Chronic Disease Management Li Shizheng and other attendees provided detailed introductions to hypertension services and shared the latest research findings on related management services. It was revealed that the number of heavy users of Ping An Chronic Disease Manager has reached 1,131,0001 with hypertension patients over 231,0002 by June 2023. The blood pressure achievement rate has reached 76.67%3 with user satisfaction as high as 99.09%4.
Grounded in the principles of "lifestyle medicine," Ping An Chronic Disease Manager integrates information technology with clinical medical guidelines. It utilizes advanced medical technologies and a collaborative management system involving four experts to deliver personalized behavioral interventions for patients. These interventions include monitoring medical indicators such as blood sugar, blood pressure, and body weight; providing patient education; and offering personalized dietary and exercise plans. Through features like meal reviews, community check-ins, and patient education checkpoints, the platform helps patients manage risk factors, enhance their lifestyles, and improve the prevention and management of chronic diseases.
During the seminar, Professor Huo Yong, Professor Zhou Maigeng, and other attending experts provided specific guidance and suggestions for the hypertension management services of Ping An Chronic Disease Manager.
Professor Huo Yong emphasized the importance of digital technology in precision medicine and predictive prevention. Huo also remarked that cardiovascular digital therapy needs to combine innovative technology with systematic integration to connect hospital management data with health management data. This will facilitate multi-dimensional coordination both within and outside of hospitals, ultimately helping patients to improve their quality of life.
Professor Zhou Maigeng believes that cardiovascular digital therapy can utilize technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning to analyze and explore a large amount of cardiovascular disease data, discover hidden patterns and trends, identify suitable target populations, and provide personalized management plans based on patients' individual characteristics and conditions. As a result, the effectiveness of management can be greatly improved.
Seminar participants unanimously agreed that the development of cardiovascular digital therapy is an ongoing trend and digital technology will have a profound impact on the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. Professor Hu Yong called on relevant medical institutions to actively participate in the standardization of cardiovascular digital therapy, jointly promoting its commercialization and widespread adoption.
Going forward, Ping An Health will closely collaborate with experts in cardiovascular care and digitalization to integrate the latest advancements in technology and research, with the goal of ultimately improving patients’ health management experience. Ping An Health will continue striving to provide more precise and personalized digital health services for a wide range of patients, offer users a "worry-free, time-saving, and money-saving" chronic disease management service, and achieve new milestones in the prevention and management of cardiovascular diseases.
