The Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Award is sponsored by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Science and Technology. Infectious diseases have become an important threat to national security. Therefore, anti-infective therapeutic drugs are the most critical part of protecting people's lives. However, there is currently a lack of innovative drugs and a large gap with foreign countries. It is difficult to cope with the increasingly severe challenges of infectious disease prevention and treatment. Major scientific and technological issues that need urgent breakthroughs include: the research and development of original new anti-infective drugs, in vitro and in vivo models and evaluation of anti-infective drugs, drug synthesis and production process innovation, etc.
