The mobile robot includes a communication circuitry configured to communicate with an electronic device, a sensor configured to detect a user, a user interface configured to provide information related to an operation of the electronic device, and a controller. The controller may be configured to: determine a target user to provide the information related to the operation of the electronic device, based on at least one of state information of the electronic device or user information obtained by the sensor, obtain event information about a change in the operation of the electronic device, determine a notification type of the event information, based on at least one of a location of the target user or a state of the target user, and control the user interface to provide the event information in the determined notification type.
