Abstract

A lift device includes a base, a platform, and a scissor assembly including a plurality of scissor layers, an actuator configured to extend and retract the plurality of scissor layers, and a kicker assembly including a kicker coupled to the actuator and including a first end pivotably coupled to a first scissor layer of the plurality of scissor layers about a kicker axis and a second end releasably engaged with a support surface, wherein extension of the actuator is configured to cause the kicker to pivot about the kicker axis and exert a force on the support surface when the second end is engaged with the support surface, and a stop coupled to the first scissor layer and configured to selectively restrain rotation of the kicker about the kicker axis and cause the second end of the kicker to disengage the support surface.

What is claimed is:

A lift device includes a base, a platform, and a scissor assembly including a plurality of scissor layers, an actuator configured to extend and retract the plurality of scissor layers, and a kicker assembly including a kicker coupled to the actuator and including a first end pivotably coupled to a first scissor layer of the plurality of scissor layers about a kicker axis and a second end releasably engaged with a support surface, wherein extension of the actuator is configured to cause the kicker to pivot about the kicker axis and exert a force on the support surface when the second end is engaged with the support surface, and a stop coupled to the first scissor layer and configured to selectively restrain rotation of the kicker about the kicker axis and cause the second end of the kicker to disengage the support surface.
