A fluorocarbon-free filtration media includes a fluorocarbon-free additive and mimics one or more properties of traditional fluorocarbon-containing filtration media. A method of making the fluorocarbon-free filtration media includes forming a nonwoven web of microglass fibers and applying the fluorocarbon-free additive. The fluorocarbon-free additive can be added before incorporating a binder, with the binder, or both before and with the binder.
