A solid supplement composition comprising at least one non-ester nitrate compound and at least one isolated amino acid compound, wherein the at least one isolated amino acid compound is non-aspartate trimethylglycine, wherein the at least one isolated amino acid compound is a separate compound than the at least one non-ester nitrate compound, and wherein the solid supplement composition comprises an amount of nitrate ion (NO3—) that is at least 0.05625 mg.

What is claimed is:
A solid supplement composition comprising at least one non-ester nitrate compound and at least one isolated amino acid compound, wherein the at least one isolated amino acid compound is non-aspartate trimethylglycine, wherein the at least one isolated amino acid compound is a separate compound than the at least one non-ester nitrate compound, and wherein the solid supplement composition comprises an amount of nitrate ion (NO3—) that is at least 0.05625 mg.
