Abstract

A solid supplement composition comprising at least one non-ester nitrate compound and at least one isolated amino acid compound, wherein the at least one isolated amino acid compound is arginine, wherein the at least one isolated amino acid compound is a separate compound than the at least one non-ester nitrate compound, and wherein the solid supplement composition comprises an amount of nitrate ion (NO3—) that is at least about 1 mg. A semisolid supplement composition comprising at least one non-ester nitrate compound and at least one isolated amino acid compound, wherein the at least one isolated amino acid compound is arginine, wherein the at least one isolated amino acid compound is a separate compound than the at least one non-ester nitrate compound, and wherein the semisolid supplement composition comprises an amount of nitrate ion (NO3—) that is at least about 1 mg.

What is claimed is:

A solid supplement composition comprising at least one non-ester nitrate compound and at least one isolated amino acid compound, wherein the at least one isolated amino acid compound is arginine, wherein the at least one isolated amino acid compound is a separate compound than the at least one non-ester nitrate compound, and wherein the solid supplement composition comprises an amount of nitrate ion (NO3—) that is at least about 1 mg. A semisolid supplement composition comprising at least one non-ester nitrate compound and at least one isolated amino acid compound, wherein the at least one isolated amino acid compound is arginine, wherein the at least one isolated amino acid compound is a separate compound than the at least one non-ester nitrate compound, and wherein the semisolid supplement composition comprises an amount of nitrate ion (NO3—) that is at least about 1 mg.
