/Mounting System For Vehicular Components
Abstract

A mounting system for vehicular components is provided. There is a male connector having a spigot and a plurality of radial tabs extending from the spigot and a female connector having a primary receiver for receiving the spigot of the male connector and a plurality of secondary receivers for receiving the plurality of radial tabs in a twist-lock arrangement. The male connector and the female connector are integrally formed with or associated with a first vehicular component and a second vehicular component to permit interconnection of the first and second vehicular components via the mounting system. There is also a vibration damping member receivable around the spigot so as to be in abutment engagement with the female connector when connected to the male connector and provide vibrational damping therebetween.

What is claimed is:

A mounting system for vehicular components is provided. There is a male connector having a spigot and a plurality of radial tabs extending from the spigot and a female connector having a primary receiver for receiving the spigot of the male connector and a plurality of secondary receivers for receiving the plurality of radial tabs in a twist-lock arrangement. The male connector and the female connector are integrally formed with or associated with a first vehicular component and a second vehicular component to permit interconnection of the first and second vehicular components via the mounting system. There is also a vibration damping member receivable around the spigot so as to be in abutment engagement with the female connector when connected to the male connector and provide vibrational damping therebetween.
