A controller for a laser beam machine includes a display, a user interface, a processor, and a communication circuit. The display displays a first machining result indicating a machining result of a first product. The laser beam machine operates based on a first control command generated by a machining program. The user interface receives a first quantity that is an additional order quantity of the first product or a first instruction to change the first quantity. The user interface receives a start instruction for a nesting process to arrange the first quantity of the first product in at least one workpiece. The processor generates a second control command that causes the laser beam machine to produce the first quantity from the workpiece based on a result of the nesting process. The communication circuit transmits the second control command to the laser beam machine.
