An article supply apparatus 1 includes: an insertion portion 5 to which a coin C is insertable; a holding portion 25 which is capable of holding the coin C that is inserted; a setting portion 28 which is capable of setting a number of at least one coin C capable of being held in the holding portion; a discharge portion 29 which is capable of discharging the coin C that is inserted; and a control portion capable of controlling whether or not to discharge the coin C that is inserted, and the control portion controls the coin C that is additionally inserted to be discharged to the discharge portion 29, on a condition that the holding portion is holding a set number of coins C.

What is claimed is:
