A method for handling a store and forward (S&F) satellite operation for satellite communication is provided. The method includes determining, by a network apparatus, whether the network apparatus is operating in a S&F satellite operation mode or not, and transmitting, by the network apparatus, at least one of a system information block (SIB) message or a non-access stratum (NAS) signaling message to a user equipment (UE) in accordance with a determination that the network apparatus is operating in the S&F satellite operation mode
