The electronic device may receive a user input corresponding to information for identifying a target to be configured, the target including at least one of a gesture to be changed or a control operation corresponding to the gesture, and a change application scope of the gesture. Based on the information on the target, the electronic device may obtain information on a plurality of candidate gestures associated with the control operation from gesture-to-operation mapping data. Based on the information on the plurality of candidate gestures and the change application scope, the electronic device may provide a recommended gesture for performing the control operation.
