/Redox-active Iodine Matrix Composition And Associated Methods For Plant Physiological Modulation
Abstract

A composition modulates plant physiological processes and includes elemental iodine (I2) and iodide (I−) in an aqueous medium at a weight ratio from about 1:1.2 to about 1:5, iodate (IO3−) present in the aqueous medium at a weight ratio from about 1:0.5 to about 1:5 relative to the combined weight of elemental iodine and iodide, an organic reducing acid, an organic physiological acid, and at least one non-ionic, biodegradable surfactant. The composition forms a redox-active iodine matrix that interconverts iodine species in the aqueous medium.
