A modular power and connectivity assembly and system are provided. The modular power and connectivity assembly includes a rectangular housing comprising an open rectangular cavity disposed in a corner portion of the rectangular housing, a cavity coupling member configured to receive a device coupling member of an infusion device comprising one of a sensor and an infusion pump, a power assembly configured to provide power to an infusion device, and a communication assembly configured to provide communication with the infusion device, wherein the modular power and connectivity assembly is configured to be removably coupled to the infusion device. A method of operating a modular power and connectivity system is also provided.
