Example service widget refresh methods and example electronic devices are provided. One example method is applied to an electronic device. A first application is installed in the electronic device. The electronic device comprises a data proxy, a widget management service, and a data management service. The electronic device displays a first service widget and first content in the first service widget. The data proxy displays an address of second content from the data management service, wherein the data management service is used to store a data identifier and an address of the first application. The data proxy sends the address of the second content to the widget management service. The widget management service provides the address of the second content for the electronic device. The electronic device obtains the second content based on the address of the second content. The electronic device displays second content in the first service widget.
