An electric power conversion apparatus includes a rectifier circuit, a first inverter circuit, a DC link capacitor, a reactor, a control unit and a resonance suppression unit. The DC link capacitor is connected between input nodes of the first inverter circuit. The resonance suppression unit suppresses LC resonance of a circuit including the DC link capacitor and the reactor. The control unit controls the resonance suppression unit so that an integral value of a current flowing from the DC link capacitor to the resonance suppression unit is 0 or less in a period of a half cycle of the LC resonance starting from a transition timing for a transition from the non conduction period to a conduction period during which the current flows from the AC power source to the rectifier circuit.
