Abstract

A decoding method is provided and includes the following. A first difference in sample values between a first reference block pointed to by a first candidate motion vector (MV) of a current block and a second reference block pointed to by a second candidate MV of the current block is determined. A second difference in sample values between a template of the current block and a template of the first reference block is determined. A third difference in sample values between the template of the current block and a template of the second reference block is determined. A first prediction MV and a second prediction MV of the current block are obtained by performing motion estimation on the current block at least according to the first difference, the second difference, and the third difference. A prediction block of the current block is obtained.

What is claimed is:

A decoding method is provided and includes the following. A first difference in sample values between a first reference block pointed to by a first candidate motion vector (MV) of a current block and a second reference block pointed to by a second candidate MV of the current block is determined. A second difference in sample values between a template of the current block and a template of the first reference block is determined. A third difference in sample values between the template of the current block and a template of the second reference block is determined. A first prediction MV and a second prediction MV of the current block are obtained by performing motion estimation on the current block at least according to the first difference, the second difference, and the third difference. A prediction block of the current block is obtained.
