Provided is a method for producing a fluoropolymer, the method comprising polymerizing a fluoromonomer in the presence of a polymerization initiator and an aqueous medium in a reactor to prepare a composition containing the aqueous medium and the fluoropolymer, and bringing the composition into contact with a gas containing at least oxygen.
