The electronic device at least includes a display screen, and the method includes: during the operation of the first system, controlling, by the first system, the display screen to enter an always on display (AOD) mode, in a case where a first AOD condition is met in the electronic device; and transmitting, by the first system, an AOD switching instruction to the second system, in a case where a second AOD condition is met in the electronic device. The AOD switching instruction is configured to indicate the second system to control the display screen to enter the AOD mode.
