Abstract

A suture device (100) includes a tensile member (250), a suture knot (264) associated with the tensile member (250), and a needle guide (210). The needle guide (210) includes a first needle (212) coupled to the tensile member (250), a second needle (214), and a suture knot recess (254) configured to accept the suture knot (264). At least a portion of the suture device (100) is configured to be directed into an opening in a tissue. The first and second needles (212, 214) are configured to be directed through the tissue adjacent to the opening to direct the tensile member (250) through the tissue. The tensile member (250) is configured to be pulled through the tissue when at least one of the first or second needles (212, 214) is retracted. The suture knot (264) is configured to be deployed from the suture knot recess (254) and along the tensile member (250) and tightened to close and seal the opening.
