/Audio Playback Adjustment
Abstract

A first playback device configured to (i) place audio frames in a buffer, (ii) transmit the audio frames to a second playback device, (iii) receive a command to adjust playback of audio content, (iv) based on the command, identify a range of audio frames previously transmitted to the second playback device, (v) select a new start time for the range of audio frames, (vi) without retransmitting the range of audio frames, transmit (a) an indication of the new start time and (b) an indication of the range of audio frames to the second playback device and thereby cause the second playback device to update timing information for the range of audio frames, (vii) update, in the buffer, timing information for the range of audio frames, and (viii) play back the range of audio frames in synchrony with the second playback device based on the updated timing information.
