Systems and methods for cross-domain structural pattern matching in a retrieval augmented generation system, including analyzing documents across multiple domains using domain-specific analyzers to identify functional components within each domain, each functional component including a function representing a domain-specific task or process, an event representing an outcome of the function, and a way representing an implementation method, encoding structural relationships between the functional components in a graph database that captures hierarchical dependencies between functions, events, and ways, computing structural similarities between a target query and encoded functional components, and retrieving functionally similar functional components having a structural similarity that exceeds a predetermined threshold for augmenting generation of a response to the target query by a large language model.
