Embodiments of the disclosure provide a data storage management method, system, and device in the data storage field. A host calculates migration information for a source storage disk according to valid data volume on the source disk and available space on a destination disk, then sends the information to the source disk. The source disk transmits valid data of the corresponding amount to the destination disk for storage. In this method, the host only computes and delivers migration information, while the source disk directly sends valid data to the destination disk without host involvement in data receiving or forwarding.
