A method by a network computing device includes obtaining interaction information, generating a code, and dividing the code into first and second code portions. The first and second code portions do not contain meaningful information individually and are not individually readable by an optical scanner. The method further includes determining first computing device parameters, generating a plurality of first code options based on the first computing device parameters, and providing the first code portion and the plurality of first code options to the first computing device. When one or more of the plurality of first code options is selected, the method further includes updating the first code portion to reflect the one or more of the plurality of first code options. The method further includes providing the second code portion to the second computing device, and when the optically produced code has been captured, finalizing the interaction.
