/System And Method For A Vessel Assessment Tool
Abstract

A vessel assessment system includes an ultrasound probe and a console coupled to the ultrasound probe, the console comprising a display and one or more logic modules coupled to one or both of a processor and a data store. The one or more logic modules can include an imaging logic, a vessel selection logic, and a vascular access device (VAD) selection logic. The imaging logic can be configured to provide an ultrasound image from the ultrasound probe on the display, the ultrasound image including one or more blood vessels. The vessel selection logic can be configured to superimpose and align one or more vessel selection rings on the ultrasound image. The VAD selection logic can be configured to automatically select the one or more vessel selection rings, each representing a catheter gauge that can successfully access a blood vessel of the one or more blood vessels on the ultrasound image.
