Abstract

A payment terminal is provided which selects a code payment or a non-contact payment. The payment terminal includes a touch panel configured to electrically detect a contact or a proximity of an object as an input detection function, an antenna configured to perform non-contact communication with a communication medium storing information for the non-contact payment, and a camera configured to image a code for the code payment. When the code payment is selected, the camera is turned ON. When the code payment is completed, the camera is turned OFF. When the non-contact payment is selected, the power supply to the antenna is turned ON, and the input detection function of the touch panel is turned OFF. When the non-contact payment is completed, the power supply to the antenna is turned OFF, and the input detection function of the touch panel is turned ON.

What is claimed is:

A payment terminal is provided which selects a code payment or a non-contact payment. The payment terminal includes a touch panel configured to electrically detect a contact or a proximity of an object as an input detection function, an antenna configured to perform non-contact communication with a communication medium storing information for the non-contact payment, and a camera configured to image a code for the code payment. When the code payment is selected, the camera is turned ON. When the code payment is completed, the camera is turned OFF. When the non-contact payment is selected, the power supply to the antenna is turned ON, and the input detection function of the touch panel is turned OFF. When the non-contact payment is completed, the power supply to the antenna is turned OFF, and the input detection function of the touch panel is turned ON.
