A method and an apparatus for configuring AI functionalities, the method comprising: a terminal equipment receives first configuration information transmitted by a network device, the first configuration information being used to configure at least one AI functionality of the terminal equipment; and the terminal equipment configures the at least one AI functionality according to the first configuration information. According to embodiments of the present disclosure, the network device may control, to some extent, a model activated at a terminal equipment side in functionality based LCM, or, the network device may perceive information on a model activated at a terminal equipment side in functionality based LCM, thereby better implementing functionalities/model control.
