A method for performing cognitive-based therapy, comprising: performing a process to be emulated, the process including: uttering a first single independent clause identifying a first feature in a target subject matter; drawing a first symbol after uttering the first single independent clause; uttering a second single independent clause identifying a second feature in the target subject matter; drawing a second symbol proximate to the first symbol and along a first non-intersecting path after uttering the second single independent clause; uttering a third single independent clause identifying a third feature in the target subject matter; drawing a third symbol proximate to the second symbol and along the first non-intersecting path after uttering the third single independent clause; instructing a client to identify first features in a target subject matter by emulating the process; instructing the client to draw all symbols along a second non-intersecting path before the client emulates the process.

What is claimed is:

A method for performing cognitive-based therapy, comprising: performing a process to be emulated, the process including: uttering a first single independent clause identifying a first feature in a target subject matter; drawing a first symbol after uttering the first single independent clause; uttering a second single independent clause identifying a second feature in the target subject matter; drawing a second symbol proximate to the first symbol and along a first non-intersecting path after uttering the second single independent clause; uttering a third single independent clause identifying a third feature in the target subject matter; drawing a third symbol proximate to the second symbol and along the first non-intersecting path after uttering the third single independent clause; instructing a client to identify first features in a target subject matter by emulating the process; instructing the client to draw all symbols along a second non-intersecting path before the client emulates the process.
