An implantable prosthetic device can include a radially expandable and compressible annular frame comprising a first end portion and a second end portion, an outer covering disposed on an outer surface of the frame, and an edge covering disposed on the first end portion of the frame. The edge covering can include a first layer disposed on an inner facing surface of the frame, and a second layer disposed on the outer surface of the frame. The edge covering is coupled to the frame via a first set of stitches extending through the first layer of the edge covering and the outer covering, and a second set of stitches extending through the first layer of the edge covering, the outer covering, and the second layer of the edge covering.
