A hair styling apparatus is provided and includes a first arm, a second arm, and a hair clamp. The first arm and the second arm are coupled together at a first end thereof. An inner wall of the first arm faces an inner wall of the second arm. The first arm and the second arm are arranged to receive hair within a cavity formed between the first arm and the second arm. At least the first arm has a plenum, which includes an air outlet for emitting air towards hair within the cavity. The air outlet can emit air having a laminar airflow such that the air travels out of the cavity in a downward direction from the air outlet towards a bottom of the cavity. The hair clamp includes a first clamping member that is supported by the inner wall of one of the first or second arms.
